A thousand miles of golden show
The Ejin Banner of Inner Mongolia is a flag of the Alxa League of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It covers an area of 114,606 square kilometers, mostly uninhabited desert areas. Ejin Populus Eugensis National Nature Reserve is located in the center of Ejin Banner - Ejin Oasis, west of Ejin Banner government resident Dalaihubu town, north of Yanhai, with a total area of 26253 square kilometers, with an area of 390,000 mu of protected ancient tree species - populus eugensis.
Populus euphratica is the only tree species that grows in the desert, and it is very precious, which can be compared with the ginkgo tree, which is called "plant living fossil". It is an amazing and colorful tree, green in spring and summer, yellow in late autumn, and red in winter. In the Uyghur language, Populus euphratica is called Toklak, which means "the most beautiful tree". Because of its amazing ability to resist drought, wind and sand, salt and alkali, it can survive and multiply in the desert, so it is praised as "desert hero tree".
Populus euphratica is still a strong tree species, its life is "three thousand years", that is, live a thousand years not dead, die a thousand years after death, fall a thousand years not rotten. It is the only tree suitable for growth in Central Asia, and is a precious species that has survived the long process of evolution in nature. It not only has charming charm, stubborn character, unfortunate fate, inspired too much human poetry and philosophy. The book of Sanmao once wrote: "If there is an afterlife, I want to be a tree." Stand in the eternal, no joy and sorrow posture. Half serene in the dust, half flying in the wind; Half in the shade, half in the sun. Very silent, very proud. Never rely on, never look for."
The Ejin Banner poplar forest in autumn, like silent, stable, silent soldiers, guards this important protective barrier, preventing the Badain Jaran Desert from spreading northward. It is more like the golden world all over the world, like a fairy tale, the beauty is intoxicating.
